Started by David, his two college friends Philip and Helen and his mum Ann. The idea of starting up a vietnamese deli shop came about when David was at university and looking for Pho places to eat which proved to be difficult because not one of the places he went gave him the satisfaction of a homemade Pho he would otherwise get at home. With that frustration in mind, after finishing off his degree, he set out to start up his own little vietnamese deli shop where his mum Ann's 'home cooking' would be centre stage in every dish that comes out of the Carrots + Daikon kitchen.

Although initially not believing her vietnamese home cooking was good enough to build a whole menu around, David soon convinced her that her cooking is what brought him joy and happiness through his childhood and this was the feel and atompshere he wanted to create for his deli shop concept.

With Mum's recipes in hand, an idea in development, finding help would be the next stage getting Carrots + Daikon up and running. Luckily for David, his college friends Philip and Helen would soon help him put all the missing bits and pieces together in time of the grand opening of Kentish Town's new vietnamese joint.

Without the family and friends on hand to help every step of the way, Carrots + Daikon wouldn't be what it is now, a friendly and happy place where anyone can come in and grab your favourite vietnamese food and knowing that time and effort was put in making your lunch or dinner meals truly special and delicious.
